I woke up this morning and knew that today,
the sun would not be shining and the clouds would be gray.
As I stepped outside, rain fell upon my head.
My car wouldn't start so I walked to college instead.
I forgot all of my assignments, I failed all of my tests.
I dropped my head in disgust and asked the Lord for one request:
"Lord, why is it that things won't go my way?"
He gently replied, "Dear child it is because you didn't thank me yesterday.
I woke you up and enabled you to see the sun again.
I gave you shelter, protected your family, and even let you make a new friend.
I blessed you far greater than I ever had before.
But you were too busy to thank me once more.
You didn't feel sick because I maintained your health.
You had money in your pocket because I maintained your wealth.
You had shoes on your feet and clothes to wear, too.
You had plenty of food to eat, and what did you do?
You ignored me and went about your tasks.
But when you wanted something you never hesitated to ask.
I was there when you needed me, and that wasn't too long ago.
But when things started going your way, it was me you did not know.
As if that weren't enough,
I provided your favorite luxuries.
This was something I didn't have to do,
they weren't even necessities.
And when it was time to get on your knees and show your gratitude,
you decided that after such a fulfilling day, you weren't in the mood.
So I decided to give you just a little test.
To show you how it would feel to stop being blessed."
I began to realize what the Lord was saying.
And when I got home, I fell to my knees and started praying.
He said, "My child, you have learned and you know I do forgive.
But remember to remember this day as long as you shall live.
I love filling your life with joy, and your pain I'll alleviate it.
But just a simple thank you would show how much you appreciate it."
A Mother's Love
The young mother set her foot on the path of life. "Is this the long way?" she asked. And the guide said: "Yes, and the way is hard. And you will be old before you reach the end of it. But the end will be better than the beginning." But the young mother was happy, and she would not believe that anything could be better than these years.
So she played with her children, and gathered flowers for them along the way, and bathed them in the clear streams; and the sun shone on them, and the young Mother cried, "Nothing will ever be lovelier than this." Then the night came, and the storm, and the path was dark, and the children shook with fear and cold, and the mother drew them close and covered them with her mantle, and the children said, "Mother, we are not afraid, for you are near, and no harm can come."
And the morning came, and there was a hill ahead, and the children climbed and grew weary, and the mother was weary. But at all times she said to the children, "A little patience and we are there." So the children climbed, and when they reached the top they said, "Mother, we would not have done it without you." And the mother, when she lay down at night looked up at the stars and said, "This is a better day than the last, for my children have learned fortitude in the face of hardness. Yesterday I gave them courage. Today, I have given them strength."
And the next day came strange clouds which darkened the earth, clouds of war and hate and evil, and the children groped and stumbled, and the mother said: "Look up. Lift your eyes to the light." And the children looked and saw above the clouds an everlasting glory, and it guided them beyond the darkness. And that night the Mother said, "This is the best day of all, for I have shown my children God."
And the days went on, and the weeks and the months and the years, and the mother grew old and she was little and bent. But her children were tall and strong, and walked with courage. And when the way was rough, they lifted her, for she was as light as a feather; and at last they came to a hill, and beyond they could see a shining road and golden gates flung wide. And mother said: "I have reached the end of my journey. And now I know the end is better than the beginning, for my children can walk alone, and their children after them."
And the children said, "You will always walk with us, Mother, even when you have gone through the gates." And they stood and watched her as she went on alone, and the gates closed after her. And they said: "We cannot see her, but she is with us still. A Mother like ours is more than a memory. She is a living presence."
Your Mother is always with you. She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street, she's the smell of bleach in your freshly laundered socks she's the cool hand on your brow when you're not well. Your Mother lives inside your laughter. And she's crystallized in every tear drop. She's the place you came from, your first home; And she's the map you follow with every step you take.
She's your first love and your first heartbreak, and nothing on earth can separate you..Not time, not space...not even death!
A Few Wrinkles Add Character
A very weird thing has happened. A strange old lady has moved into my house. I have no idea who she is, where she came from or how she got in. I certainly did not invite her. All I know is that one day she wasn’t there, and the next day she was.
She is a clever old lady and manages to keep out of sight for the most part, but whenever I pass a mirror, I catch a glimpse of her. And whenever I look in the mirror to check my appearance, there she is, hogging the whole thing, completely obliterating my gorgeous face and body. This is very rude. I have tried screaming at her, but she just screams back.
If she insists on hanging around, the least she could do is offer to pay part of the rent, but no. Once in a while, I find a dollar bill stuck in a coat pocket, or some loose change under a sofa cushion, but is not nearly enough to even pay part of the rent.
I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but I think she is stealing money from me, I go to the ATM and withdraw $100, and a few days later it’s all gone. I certainly don’t spend money that fast, so I can only conclude the old lady is taking it.
You’d think she would spend some of that money to buy wrinkle cream, Lord knows she needs it. And money isn’t the only thing I think she is stealing. Food seems to disappear at an alarming rate. -- especially the good stuff like ice cream, cookies and candy. I can’t seem to keep that stuff in the house anymore. She must have a real sweet tooth, but she’d better watch it, because she is really packing on the pounds, I suspect she realizes that and to make herself feel better, she is tampering with my scale to make me think I am putting on weight too.
For an old lady, she is quite childish. She likes to play nasty games, like going into my closets when I’m not home and altering my clothes so they won’t fit. And she messes with my files and papers so I can’t find anything. This is particularly annoying since I am extremely neat and organized. She also fiddles with my VCR so it does not record what I have carefully programmed it to do.
She has found other imaginative ways to annoy me. She gets into my mail, newspapers and magazines before I do and blurs the print so I can’t read it. And she has done something really sinister to the volume controls on my TV, radio and telephone. Now all I hear are mumbles and whispers.
She has done other things -- like make my stairs steeper, my vacuum cleaner heavier and all my knobs and faucets harder to turn. She even made my bed higher so that getting into and out is a real challenge. Lately she has been fooling with my groceries, applying glue to the lids, making it almost impossible for me to open the jars. Is this any way to repay my hospitality.
She has taken the fun out of shopping for clothes. When I try something on, she stands in front of the dressing room mirror and monopolizes it. She looks totally ridiculous in some of those outfits, plus she keeps me from seeing how great they look on me.
Just when I thought she couldn’t get any meaner, she proved me wrong. She came along when I went to get my passport picture taken, and just as the camera shutter clicked, she jumped in front of me! Disaster! I have never seen such a terrible picture. How can I go abroad now? No customs official is ever going to believe that that wrinkled old lady from my passport is me.
She's walking on very thin ice. If she keeps this up, I swear, I'll put her in a home. On second thought, I shouldn't be too hasty. First, I think I'll check with the IRS and see if I can claim her as a dependent.

We know not when our time on earth is o'er!
But with faith we can see the other shore!
The picture's not yet clear beyond the veil!
But with Jesus leading all will turn out well!
Words can't express the joy that is to come,
For all on earth who've put their trust in God!
A clearer picture we will one day SEE!
When the veil's removed for all Eternity!
Are you my friend still on the darker road?
Turn now and be refreshed in Jesus blood!
He'll wash away your sins and make you clean.
You'll be a babe once more to start again!
We will know our friends and loved one's then!
All them like us who have let the Savior in.
If you don't understand it now you really can!
For understanding comes when life anew begins!
So come! Be among the number of the blessed!
Get on the road that leads to Eternal rest!
With open arms He's {Jesus} waiting now for you!
He'll save, protect and keep you all life through!
A Bit of Wisdom
People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some
false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God;
It never was between you and them anyway.

Affection
From Afar
Being in a long distance relationship can be difficult. The time
spent without being able to lay eyes on your love is frustrating, but we
also know relationships that take place from separate cities have
benefits. Here are some of the best.
Anticipation
One of the best things about long distance love is the anticipation of finally seeing your guy once you make plans to get together. Because you can't see each other all the time, when you do have a date to look forward to, you really look forward to it – more so than someone who gets to see their guy on a regular basis.Good behavior
Another good thing about being part of a long distance duo is less petty arguments. If you only see your man once a month (or less), you're not going to waste time nagging each other over things that don't matter. Instead you're both on your best behavior because you know you only have a limited amount of time together.Prolonged passion
Once you've been dating someone for a while, the excitement and passion inevitably taper off, but you can expect the lust to last longer when you go long periods without seeing your guy. Every time you see him it feels new because you have to go weeks or months without being together.Amped up romance
Chances are, when you're in a long distance relationship you only get to see your significant other sporadically, so when you do get together you'll put more effort into being romantic. Rather than just doing the same old thing, you'll be more likely to try new restaurants and do new things. Plus he'll be much more likely to put effort into your dates, like dressing better and getting that haircut you've been suggesting he get.
